Even more dialogues and problems

June 7, 2008

We’ve added even more dialogues to Zhongwen Green at the following lessons:

http://www.zhongwengreen.com/Glesson5.htm

http://www.zhongwengreen.com/Glesson6.htm

http://www.zhongwengreen.com/Glesson7.htm

Each of the dialogues is four lines, and reuses the key vocabulary / sentence patterns as well as introduces new vocabulary.

I think we might be having some problems with our DNS server.

WE hope to start having audio files available on Zhongwen Green by the end of July, but they will probably trickle in until Winter starts.

Zhongwen Green

May 13, 2008

Our third and final site in the Zhongwen series, Zhongwen Green, is now up! You can check it out at www.zhongwengreen.com

From now on, we can focus on expanding the three sites. We will start having audio up in a few months.

Expanded title

May 5, 2008

I expanded the title of Zhongwen Red in order to boost the number of visitors to the site.

Two new dialogues added

May 2, 2008

Two new dialogues have been added, one at http://www.zhongwenred.com/lessoneleven.htm and the other at http://www.zhongwenred.com/lessontwelve.htm .

I have gotten the ball rolling as far as getting a job in China, so I will be able to start recording the mp3s for the sites starting in a few months, when I get there. I am looking to work in Harbin, Shenyang or Changchun. I would really like to go to Tianjin but the accent they have there is a bit off.

Chinese Pod – Hot or Not?

April 28, 2008

I was looking at photos of our spiritual overloads Ken Carrol and Jenny Zhu on Flickr just now, and I have to say, that Jenny is HOT. Ken however looks like your typical ESL teacher, i.e. his life is a perpetual hangover.  However, Mr. Carroll is not to be underestimated, you can see for yourself at his blog at ken-carroll.com

Adding Dialogues

April 25, 2008

I have decided to add dialogues to the pages, starting with Zhongwen Red. They will be little four-line dialogues, with perhaps some new vocab elements thrown in.

I’ve written the first two dialogues here:

http://www.zhongwenred.com/lessonone.htm

and

http://www.zhongwenred.com/lessontwo.htm

I am not sure if I will write the dialogues for the other sites, although I think that I must. There is just not enough time in the day!

eLearning and Mandarin

April 22, 2008

There are so many resources for learning Mandarin online, I am surpised though that some of it is so hard to get to. For instance, CCTV offers a lot of material, but you have to know where to go.

Have been sick lately so not much has happened with the site. WWW.zhongwenblue.com now has 25 lessons. I’ve been thinking though that I need to add more to the site than just example sentences.
